Midwest Open for Snowboarding

Wild Mountain has become the first area in the Midwest to open for the season.

It's going to be rather thin for a while--one bunny slope that is rope-served, if I recall correctly. But it's a good sign.

Here's an e-mail from WM:

Today, Wednesday, November 7th we are officially starting the Ski/Snowboard Season in MN! Keeping with our 32 year tradition Wild Mountain is the first Area to open in the Midwest.

We will be opening today with one run Expressway an intermediate run and 1 chairlift

We are excited to start the season and to see you all soon!

I would contest their claim of first to open....several places in the UP opened last weekend, and last I checked they are in the Midwest as well...

Either way, this is good news :)

Just bought our season passes today for Mad River Mountain.

Let's hope it's a long and snowy one.
