Bus Racks for Snowboards

Postby John » Mon Jan 14, 2008 10:34 am

I encountered a situation and I wonder if anyone has had a similar experience.

I was recently at Lutsen (northern Minnesota). They had a bus -- an old Bluebird bus formerly used to transport kids to school -- had a rack on the outside for transporting skis. And nothing but skis. I've been to other places where they have at least a few racks for boards.

Snowboards aren't banned at Lutsen, but if snowboarders have to take them on the bus, it slows things down for everyone.

Anyone encounter a similar situation elsewhere?

Not the same situation, but I have my own similar gripe.

I ride wide boards for my 11.5 boots, not to mention longer than average for my freeriding centered style. With a 168 Yukon I have been in situatins where my board simply will not fit in the openings for the boards on the shuttle bus, forcing me to carry it inside across my lap and 2 other unfortunate commuters.

Like I said, not the same, but certainly an annoyance.
